Become a partner of Amigos for Christ on this trip! Amigos for Christ is a nonprofit with the purpose of providing clean water, health, education, and economic development to rural communities in Nicaragua. Your team may be assigned to serve in any of these areas.  The mission of Amigos for Christ is “to serve so that Christ becomes more visible.” Men, women, and students will do just that in Chinandega, Nicaragua on this 8-day trip.

Itinerary

Day 1:  Fly to Managua and travel to Chinandega by bus

Day 2:   Climb volcano

Day 3-4:  Community work

Day 5:  Visit the school or special activity  

Day 6:  Community work

Day 7:  Community work or special activity

Day 8:  Travel to Managua airport to depart Nicaragua

Who can Participate:

Families, kids, and individuals

Children 15 and younger must have a parent accompany them on the trip. Participants 16-18 are allowed to go without a parent but must have parental approval.

15 people


What is the cost?

$1,500 / per person

What is included in the cost?

Airfare, transportation, meals in Nicaragua, government fee, cost of activities, accommodations, airport fees, and a t-shirt.

What is not included in the cost?

Airport meals, souvenirs, passport fees, and any immunizations that you choose to receive.

Any required immunizations?

There are no requirements for any immunizations. The CDC has recommended vaccinations that can be found here.

Where will I stay?

You will stay at the Amigos complex with male and female bunkhouses, showers, and bathrooms.  There is also a dining area at the complex where you will eat breakfast and dinner. We eat PB&J’s for lunch!

Is the cost tax-deductible?

Yes, all payments will be included in your annual giving statement.  All payments are also non-transferable and non-refundable.

However, in the unlikely event that this trip would have to be canceled, your money would be refunded to you.

Team Meeting Information

We will meet a few weeks before we are set to take off for our trip to chat through travel logistics, packing, and answer any questions you have. Team meeting dates and info will be shared closer to the trip date.

How do I commit to going on the Nica Trip?

Step 1: Click “SIGN UP” below to complete an online application. 

Step 2: Pay the $175 (nonrefundable) deposit that locks in your spot. Go to our secure giving platform or you can pay by check.

Step 3: After registering, ensure you have a passport good for at least 6 months past the last day of the trip and 3 empty pages in your book. The State Department Website provides passport application and renewal information. Passport pictures can be taken at Walgreens or the Courthouse.
